African Water Facility

The African Water Facility (AWF) is an initiative of the African Ministers Council on Water (AMCOW). It is hosted and managed by the African Development Bank (AfDB). The overall purpose of the Facility is to assist African countries to mobilise and apply resources for the Water and Sanitation sector to help enable them to successfully implement the Africa Water Vision (2025) and meet the Millennium Development Goals (2015). The AWF began its operations in 2006.

Summary Report of the 12th AWF Governing Council Meeting

Tunis, Tunisia, 22-23 November 2012

The 12th meeting of the Governing Council (GC) of the African Water Facility was hosted by the African Development Bank on the 22nd and 23rd November 2012, in Tunis. The meeting was attended by 11 members of the Council or their representatives, as well as observers representing the AMCOW Technical Advisory Committee and development partners. The meeting was chaired by the GC Chairman, Honourable Samuel Sipepa Nkomo, Minister of Water Resources Development and Management, Zimbabwe. On behalf of the GC, Mr Bai-Mass Taal welcomed the new Chairman of the Governing Council. Read more
